Body / Frame

Smaller, kid-like frame and appears pre-puberty. Clear growth runway and significant future strength potential. Expect meaningful changes over the next 12–24 months as maturation begins.

Offense

Compact, flat, repeatable stroke with simple moves and barrel accuracy. Impact is understandably modest for his present size, yet “pound-for-pound” contact quality is encouraging. As strength arrives, this swing should scale. (Down the line, giving switch-hitting a look could be reasonable if he shows natural feel from the opposite side.)

Running & Athleticism

Recorded a 8.39 baseline on his combine run; currently well below average but context matters—he hasn’t added real strength yet. Deceptive athlete in a smaller package with coordination that should translate once he gains size. Expect notable jumps with basic strength, mobility, and sprint-mechanics work.

Defense

Shows favorable middle-infield actions: soft hands, calm feet, and the ability to throw from multiple slots. Instincts are there. The full-size field feels big right now, largely due to limited present strength, not glove skill.

Overall Projection

Projection is undetermined at this early stage. Spencer owns the desired actions of a true middle infielder and a compact, repeatable bat. The next growth spurt will tell us a lot. He’s a clear follow/monitor—year-to-year he could look very different with maturation and training.
